Brazilian Foreign Minister to visit Moscow on Sept 3-4 – embassy

MOSCOW, August 30 (Itar-Tass) —— Brazil’s Minister of Foreign Relations Antonio de Aguiar Patriota will arrive in Moscow on an official visit on September 3, an official at the Brazilian Embassy in Moscow told Itar-Tass on Tuesday.

On September 4, the Brazilian foreign minister plans hold talks with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov, the official said.

The two foreign ministers plan to discuss the whole range of international issues, development of trade and economic relations, enhancement of political contacts and interaction in the formats of BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) and the United Nations Organisation, diplomatic official said.

According to economic experts, this year’s trade between Brazil and Russia will make up about six billion U.S. dollars.

Traditionally, Brazil supplies food and agricultural products to Russia, including raw sugar, tobacco, coffee beans, beef, pork and poultry. Russia, in turn, supplies mineral fertilizers and diesel fuel to Brazil.

Experts point to the high level of cooperation between the two countries in the scientific and technical sphere, the major of which are scientific research and space exploration, the embassy’s official said.
