By Jia Xiaoguang, Sina English China has signed an agreement to purchase four Lada-class submarines and 24 Sukhoi Su-35 fighters from Russia prior to President Xi Jinping’s visit, according to China Central Television (CCTV) on Mar 25. It has been almost a decade since China last purchased major military equipment from Russia. The four Amur-1650 submarines, an export version of the Lada class, will be designed and constructed jointly by the two countries before sold to Chinese navy, the report said.
