Lebedev Bank Unaffected by Regulator’s Check

A regulator’s check into Russian oligarch Alexander Lebedev’s National Reserve Bank has imposed no restrictions on its operations, the bank’s press office said on Monday.

Kommersant business daily previously reported the Central Bank of Russia had imposed restrictions on the banks’ operations with private deposits after the inspection. Lebedev has called the regulator’s check politically motivated, saying the move followed his announcement that the bank would support anti-corruption blogger and opposition leader Alexei Navalny’s anti-corruption fund.

“The entire range of account, deposit and card products, mortgage and consumer loans is available to the bank’s retail clients at all its branches and operational offices,” the bank said.

“For corporate clients, the bank offers comprehensive settlement and cash services and a wide range of credit and deposit products,” the bank added.

Lebedev recently said his bank would support a new debit card project, which will donate 1 percent of all purchases to Navalny’s RosPil fund, which campaigns to expose corruption inside the Russian government.
