OSCE: No Armed Men Observed Crossing the Russian-Ukrainian Border since mid-2014

Chief OSCE observers says men in camouflage have been observed crossing but they were unarmed suggesting they were volunteers who get their weapons from rebels

VIENNA, February 26 (TASS) – Monitors of the Organization for Security and Cooperation Union working at the “Donetsk” and “Luhansk” checkpoints have not observed a single case of transferring weapons across the Russian-Ukrainian border since the summer of 2014, Paul Picard, the chief OSCE observer at the Russian-Ukrainian border, said on Thursday.

No armed people crossing the border have been spotted, he said, adding it was not possible.

Picard said camouflaged men were crossing the border in both directions. He said these people must be volunteers who could get weapons on the Ukrainian territory.
