Passenger Buses Crash in Northwestern Russia, Deaths Reported

MOSCOW, September 7 (RIA Novosti) – At least eight people were killed when two passenger buses collided head-on early on Saturday near the northwestern Russian city of Pskov, police said.

A spokesman for the regional police department said eight people were killed and some 20 injured in the crash that occurred at about 4:15 Moscow time [00:15 GMT] on Sunday on a highway connecting Moscow and Latvia’s capital, Riga.

Rescuers, police and doctors are working at the scene.
