Russia to Hike Industry Gas Tariffs by 15% in 2013 – Shuvalov

The Russian government’s budget projections commission has decided to raise gas prices for domestic industry by 15 percent in 2013, First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov said on Thursday.

“We have agreed on the issue,” Shuvalov said.

Russian gas export monopoly Gazprom previously requested a 26 percent hike in gas tariffs for industrial customers from the fourth quarter of 2012 in addition to an expected 15 percent increase in July, in a bid to compensate for losses from the increase in the subsoil extraction tax on gas, according to media reports.
