Russian PM Medvedev Has Over 2 Mln Twitter Followers

MOSCOW, September 19 (RIA Novosti) – The number of Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev’s followers on Twitter has exceeded 2 million.

“Thanks to everyone who reads this blog. There are more than 2 million of you!” Medvedev wrote in his Russian-language Twitter account @MedvedevRussia.

The premier’s followers on his English-language Twitter page @MedvedevRussiaE number about 670,000.

Medvedev, who styles himself as a technologically savvy person, opened his account on the microblog in June 2010 during a visit to the Silicon Valley, when he was Russia’s president. He has made 755 entries on his Russian-language Twitter page since then.

In his Twitter blog, Medvedev shares his views of events in Russia and abroad, posts photographs he takes, and responds to questions asked by other Twitter users.

Medvedev also has personal pages on social networking sites Facebook, Instagram and VKontakte.
