Groupon , and Zynga, are supported by Russian financing. Many other Silicon Valley-based firms and top US schools have become major partners for Russian companies. With little fanfare, the Russian IT industry is quickly turning into a globally competitive sector. Russian companies occupy leading positions in, among other specialties anti-virus software, search engines, and text recognition. These Russian companies, however, understand that success in the US market is vital to their global aspirations.
