Thousands Protest Austerity Measures in Spain

MADRID, February 24 (RIA Novosti) – Tens of thousands of people marched across Spain on Saturday to protest austerity measures and corruption, media reported. The largest protest march took place in the capital Madrid, El Mundo daily reported. Demonstrators massed up on Plaza de Neptuno, near the Spanish parliament’s lower house, which had become the scene of another large-scale protest in September 2012 – an event which resulted in clashes with riot police.
