With the Economis Forum and Alye Parusa happening on the same weekend, traffic patterns will be severely disturbed.

St. Petersburg (SPT) — The State Inspectorate for Traffic Security, or GIBDD, has posted alerts about several changes to traffic patterns as a result of the Economic Forum.

From June 19 at 8 p.m. until the end of the forum on June 22, traffic will be limited on Vasilevsky Island along Nalichnaya Ulitsa from Bolshoi to Maly Prospekt. Detours will be routed along Gavanskaya Ulitsa.

Also from June 19 to June 22, parking will also be prohibited on Nalichnaya Ulitsa, Ulitsa Opochinina and Gavanskaya Ulitsa between Bolshoi Prospekt and Ulitsa Shkiperski Protok.

Parking will also be restricted on Bolshoi and Sredny Prospekt between Ulitsa Opochinina and Detskaya Ulitsa.

Transport for forum participants will be parked on the 24-, 26-, and 28-ya liniya of the island between Bolshoi and Sredni Prsospekt, at the square by the Dom Kultura S.M. Kirova, on Ulitsa Shkiperski Protok.

There will also be several changes to bus routes on Vasilevsky Island for buses 1, 7, 128, 151 and 152.

Complete details are available on spbvoditel.ru. Trolleybus service along Bolshoi Prospekt from Detskaya Ulitsa to Ploshad Morskoi Slaby will be closed from 7 p.m. on June 19 to 10 p.m. on June 22.

Traffic jams can be expected throughout the city center on the days of the forum.

The Alye Parusa (Scarlet Sails) graduation celebration will also lead to closings and changes to traffic patterns.

From 6.30 p.m. on June 23 to the end of the celebration early the following morning on Palace Bridge and Admiralteiski Embankment, across Palace Bridge, on Palace Square, Palace Passage, Admiralteisky Prospekt, Admiralteisky Passage, Gorokhovaya Ulitsa (as far Kazanskaya Ulitsa), Nevsky Prospket (from Palace Square to the Moika River embankment).

From 7:30 p.m. on June 23 traffic will be limited along Troitsky Bridge. From 9 p.m. until the event’s end, the bridge will be completely closed to traffic.

From 1:30 a.m. to 2:10 a.m. on June 24, during the river procession, transport will be limited across Birzhevoi bridge.

All traffic will be prohibited around Birzhevaya Square on Vasilevsky Island.

The Fontanka.ru news agency reports that there will be an increase in the number of traffic and riot police at the entrances to the city as part of anti-terrorism protection for the forum.

Trucks and commercial vehicles will be under the closest scrutiny. The agency also reports that over 10,000 thousand police officers will be deployed to maintain order on the streets of the city during the run of the forum.
