The Transportation Security Administration has reportedly banned liquids on Russia bound flights, after the Department of Homeland Security issued a warning against terrorists trying to smuggle explosives aboard in toothpaste, with Sochi Winter Olympics round the corner.

The TSA banned all liquids, gels, aerosols and powders from carry-on luggage on nonstop flights between the US and Russia flights.

The DHS also warned that terrorists might possibly try to assemble an explosive device in flight or after their arrival at the Olympics, the Fox News reported.

The DHS further said that though it wasn’t aware of any specific threat to the homeland, it would continue to respond and appropriately adapt to protect the American people from an ever evolving threat picture. (ANI)
