URALCHEM has invested 465.6 million rubles in environmental programs

MOSCOW

The United Chemical Company URALCHEM, OJSC invested 465.6 million rubles in environmental-protection measures in 2012, which is almost a third more than in 2011.

The company’s press office told RusBusinessNews that more than half of this investment in the environment – 259 million rubles – was spent on the Mineral Fertilizer Plant at the Kirovo-Chepetsk Chemical Works, OJSC. Another 92 million rubles was directed toward Voskresensk Mineral Fertilizer, OJSC. UCC URALCHEM’s subsidiary in Berezniki, Azot, invested over 44 million rubles in environmental-protection measures, and Perm-based Mineral Fertilizers, OJSC – over 70 million rubles.

Some of the projects carried out include the introduction of new, modern, processing units and treatment systems, plus programs to dispose of industrial waste and reclaim the sites where it was stored.
