The Uralvagonzavod research and production corporation, OJSC and the Canadian mechanical-engineering company Bombardier intend to establish a joint venture to manufacture subway cars for the CIS countries. The parties signed a letter of intent during the International Trade Fair in Hannover.
Bombardier told RusBusinessNews that Denis Manturov, the Russian minister of industry and trade, and Philipp Rösler, the German federal minister of economics and technology, were present for that signing.
In the future, the two companies will establish facilities that are able to repair and service subway cars throughout their operating life.
