Welsh boxer Andrew Selby beat Russia’s Georgy Balakshin in the final of the under 52 kg class European Boxing Championship in Turkey on Friday.
Balakshin, the three-time European champion and 2008 Olympic bronze medal winner, fought a tactical fight, saving his strength for the final half.
Selby put up a stronger defense and was awarded the fight by a 13:10 decision on points.
