A woman in Russia’s Krasnoyarsk region received severe injures on Thursday after being hit by the propeller of an An-24 aircraft in the Krasnoyarsk airport, a spokeswoman for the Eniseysk transport prosecutor’s office said.
The transport prosecutors are probing into the accident, which occurred at 5.05 am Moscow time, as the An-24 was starting the engine before taking off to Kodinsk. The injured woman is an employee of the airport’s cleaning service.
“The woman did not turn away from the plane during engine ignition despite a technician’s warning. As a result she was struck by the propeller,” the spokeswoman said, adding that the woman has been hospitalized with head, chest and arms injuries.
