Russian President Dmitry Medvedev will hold a joint meeting of Russia’s State Council and the priority national projects commission to focus on child medicine problems.
The president recently held a number of meetings with doctors and visited a number of medical institutions in Russian regions. Medvedev, who styles himself as a technologically savvy leader, last week held a modernization commission meeting to promote high technology in child healthcare.
Russia’s plans to produce most vaccines in Russia but with the use of foreign experience will be discussed at the meeting.
Medvedev set officials the task last year to send at least 20% of overall healthcare upgrade funds to child medicine, which could account for some 100 billion rubles ($3.6bn) annually.
