MOSCOW, July 16 (Itar-Tass) —— Formula 1 four teams will participate in the Formula Sochi festival on July 17. The festival will become traditional and it will be a major state of Sochi’s preparations for the Formula 1 races – Russia’s Gran Prix.
The event on July 17 will feature teams Ferrari, Red Bull Racing, Lotus Renault and Marussia Virgin Racing, Deputy head of the Krasnodar Territory’s administration Alexei Agafonov told a news conference.
“Formula 1 represents all the best in car sports,” he said. “Our festival is the first application for Sochi’s role of Russia’s car centre, and we would like our audience not only to watch, but to hear Formula 1.”
Participants in the news conference highlighted the social aspect of the prestigious car festival, which will not only attract the youth to car sports, but will make Sochi a car centre of the country. The show will favour development of the city as a well-known international tourist centre.
