Russian Premier League newboys, FC Krasnodar, have beaten visiting Spartak Nalchik 2-0 to grab their first ever goal and victory in the top flight in the second game of the season.
FC Krasnodar 2-0 Spartak Nalchik
Igor Picusceac opened the scoring in Krasnodar with ten minutes remaining before the break.
The Moldovan was in the spotlight again in the second half as he found unmarked Yury Movsisyan in Nalchik’s box, who made it 2-0 on the 70th minute.
Spartak had a chance to get a goal back at the very end of the game, but Roman Kontsedalov failed to beat Krasnodar keeper, Evgeny Gorodov.
Slavoljub Muslin’s men have made a very confident start to their Premier League campaign, getting four points in two games and so far not conceding a single goal.
Dynamo Moscow 3-1 Rostov
Rostov, who made headlines after Matchday 1, thrashing Europa League quarterfinalists Spartak Moscow 4-0, were tested by another side from the capital… and this time failed.
The first half at Khimki Arena saw no goals, but the game was far from equal.
The Muscovites’ striker Kevin Kuranyi could have scored a hat-trick in the first 45 minutes, while Rostov failed to get even a single shot on target.
Dynamo’s pressure paid off after the break, with the home team capitalizing on two set pieces: Leandro Fernandez scored after a free-kick in the 50th minute and Zvjezdan Misimovic converted a spot-kick 15 minutes later.
Rostov made it 2-1 despite the course of the game as Anri Khagush was himself surprised to see his cross falling behind the back of Dynamo keeper, Andrey Shunin.
But substitute Andrey Voronin restored Dynamo’s lead, putting the ball into an empty net after Kuranyi’s pass, 3-1.
