In an interview with the Russian agency ITAR-TASS Saturday, Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Kazakbayev thanked Russia for help in stabilizing the political, security and economic situation in his Central Asian country.
In June 2010, two regions in southern Kyrgyzstan became scenes of deadly clashes between members of ethnic Kyrgyz and ethnic Uzbek communities.
The casualties amounted to over 200 dead and thousands wounded or injured.
