US ex-President Jimmy Carter arrives in Havana on Monday, Cuban Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Saturday.
After meeting with President Raul Castro to discuss the new economic policy embarked on by the Cuban government, the upcoming congress of the Cuban Communist Party and ways to mend ties between the two countries, Jimmy Carter will hold a news conference on the results of his unofficial visit to the island nation.
Mr. Carter last visited Cuba in May, 2002.
