Date of Berezovsky’s Funeral Still Unclear – Son-in-Law

LONDON, May 6 (RIA Novosti) – The funeral of Russian oligarch Boris Berezovsky, who died at his home near London in March, will not be held on Monday as earlier reported, his son-in-law told RIA Novosti.

“It’s not [being held] today,” Yegor Shuppe said. “I am in France right now with Boris’s mom, and while we are here, nothing will happen.”

He did not say when the funeral would take place.

UK police sources earlier indicated to RIA Novosti that the funeral would go ahead on May 6.

Berezovsky, a former Kremlin insider who fell out with President Vladimir Putin, was found dead at his home in Ascot, Britain, on March 23. He was 67. Police have said his death was consistent with hanging.

“I think the funeral will be closed to the press and somehow fairly quiet,” Shuppe added.

Berezovsky’s daughter, Yekaterina, declined to comment.

“Please don’t call me anymore,” she told RIA Novosti.
