Drunk Man’s Bomb Threat Prompts Mass Evacuation

VORONEZH, November 14 (RIA Novosti) – A total of 281 people were evacuated from a residential building in Central Russia’s Voronezh late on Tuesday after one of the residents called FSB threatening to blow his house up.

“The call was received by the local Federal Security Service (FSB) department at 20:30 Moscow time [16:30 GMT]. A man said that his apartment was stuffed with the RDX explosive,” a spokeswoman for the local police department said.

Unlike most people who make hoax bomb calls, the man identified himself and told his address.

When police arrived at the scene, the caller, who was heavily drunk, threatened to commit suicide and blow up the whole building.

The man also opened gas jets of his kitchen stove and police had to evacuate his wife and daughter through an apartment window.
