Five Found Dead, Carbon Monoxide Poisoning Suspected

MOSCOW, February 17 (RIA Novosti) – Four teenage girls and a young man were found dead on Sunday evening in the town of Valuyki near the Russian-Ukrainian border, carbon monoxide poisoning is seen as a likely cause of their death, the regional police department said.

“The bodies of four girls aged between 16 and 19, and a 22-year-old man with no signs of violent death have been discovered at about 21:00 [Moscow time, 17:00 GMT] on Sunday,” police said in a statement.

The search for one of the victims was triggered by her sister. The girl was later found dead at her friend’s house.

Doctors said carbon monoxide poisoning is seen as the most likely cause of the young people’s death, but the final conclusion will be made after an autopsy.
