Injured Izvestia correspondent undergoes surgery

MOSCOW, August 22 (Itar-Tass) —— An Izvestia special correspondent, Orhan Djemal, who was injured in Tripoli, is feeling well after the surgery, the Izvestia daily reported in a Twitter blog on Monday.

“It became clear only now that our correspondent Orhan Djemal, who was injured in Tripoli, underwent a surgery. He is feeling well. We are monitoring his health and are keeping in touch with him,” the Izvestia daily reported.

The journalist came under fire on the outskirts of the Libyan capital and was hospitalized with a leg injury to the Zintan hospital. The doctors stated that the bullet went through the shin and broke the bone.
