Klaus to Watch Russia-Czech Euro-2012 Match

Czech President Vaclav Klaus is expected to attend Friday’s Euro 2012 match between Russia and the Czech Republic in Wroclaw, Poland, but Russia’s Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev won’t make the game.

Earlier, a Polish spokesman for UEFA said Russian President Vladimir Putin would also attend the game but soccer’s European governing body later said he would not be in attendance.

RBK, quoting the Russian Prime Minister’s press secretary, said Dmitry Medvedev would not be attending the game. Earlier press reports had claimed he would watch the game in Wroclaw

The Russia vs Czech Republic match kicks off at 8.45 pm local time (6:45 p.m. GMT) following the opening game between co-hosts Poland and Greece.

Thousands of Russian and Czech fans are expected to attend the clash in Wroclaw.
