Russia’s AvtoVAZ increased car sales in Russia by more than 24% in 2011.

MOSCOW, August 2 (Itar-Tass) —— Russia’s biggest car manufacturer AvtoVAZ increased its car sales in Russia in January-July 2011 by 24.7 percent against the same period last year, having made 342,058 motor cars, the company reported on Monday.

In July only, AvtoVAZ sold 50,518 cars, of which 4,218 Lada cars were exported. In the seven months of 2011, the company exported a total of 28,632 cars, mostly to CIS countries.

In this period, the company sold a total of 85,416 Lada Kalina models (a growth by 66.3 percent), 80,420 Lada Priora models (up by 13.5 percent), 63,136 classical VAZ 2105/2107 models (down by 8.1 percent), 63,638 Lada Samara models (up by 9.8 percent), and 32,802 Lada 4×4 cars (up by 38.1 percent).

AvtoVAZ is a partner of the Renault-Nissan alliance. By 2020, it is expected to manufacture up to 1.2 million motor vehicles under the brand names Lada, Renault, and Nissan at AvtoVAZ’s facilities.

In 2010, AvtoVAZ sold more than 522,000 cars in Russia.
