The Russian authorities will finance a program of soil improvement system renewal, President Dmitry Medvedev said on Saturday.
“The Soviet Union created good soil improvement system but it degraded in the nineties (of 20th century). We should renew what was made in past and support it, but it requires much money. The government will grant the funds in terms of program of agricultural sector development,” Medvedev said.
The president also said that the agricultural sector should develop not only with the help of large enterprises but also by mid-sized farms which will heighten competition at the market.
