Libya has suspended diplomatic relations with France according to Tripoli. This was in response to a statement by President Nicolas Sarkozy that the EU no longer considers Muammar Gaddafi as the political leader of Libya. According to Paris, the only legitimate authority in Libya is the National Transition Council, which opposes Gaddafi.
