VSMPO-AVISMA and Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China have discussed the possibility of the Russian corporation taking part in the construction of China’s first wide-body, long-haul airliner. The president of SAMC (a division of COMAC), Shen Weiguo, represented the Chinese side in the negotiations.
The press office at the VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation, OJSC told RusBusinessNews that the Urals-based company has been working with COMAC for 5 years. The corporation was involved in the creation of the ARJ-21 regional jet and is now helping to build the COMAC C919, China’s first wide-body, long-haul airliner, which can accommodate up to 190 passengers.
