TSKHINVAL, August 5 (Itar-Tass) — Commemorative ceremonies “We Shall Remember Everything” will be held in Tskhinval on the third anniversary of the August 2008 events.
The ceremonies will begin on August 7, exactly at 23:35, the time when the massive artillery attack from Georgia began three years ago, South Ossetian presidential state counsellor for state and international protocol issues Zhanna Zasseyeva told Itar-Tass.
“On the night, we will pay tribute to the memory of the killed civilian South Ossetian citizens and servicemen who defended the Motherland and Ossetian people from the aggressor. Overnight from August 7 to 8, we will remember everything,” Zasseyeva said.
Mourning music will be heard outside the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Documentary video recordings of the 2008 events will be shown on outside screens. Tskhinval residents and guests will light candles and attend a religious service for the killed innocent victims.
Luminous balloons will fly up in the night sky in memory of each of the dead.
Commemorative ceremonies will continue the next days. On August 8, flowers will be laid at the burial places of the Tskhinval defenders.
There will be also a concert of the Rachmaninov Moscow symphony orchestra and a requiem concert.
