Activists from the Popular Front surprised Prime Minister Vladimir Putin with claims of asphalt mysteriously disappearing from a newly built highway in the Far East.
This came during a video conference dedicated to the state of the country’s roads chaired by Putin.
The claims puzzled the prime minister, who personally inspected the Chita-Khabarovsk highway after it was opened last September.
Activists also complained about the lack of infrastructure in the area and high gas prices.
The minister of transportation then admitted that the state of the road has deteriorated since last year. The minister said the first sections of the road were built nearly 20 years ago.
The minister of transportation pledged to improve the situation.
