If British heart-throb Colin Firth is your cup of tea, then you’d better take action, as Mr. Darcy is up for grabs. The Academy Award-winning actor has announced an auction, with the highest bidder in for a truly kingly reward.
Together with Oxfam America, the King’s Speech star is raising cash to fight poverty by putting himself under the hammer. The lucky winner will get a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to accompany Firth to the premiere of his latest movie Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy in glam LA. And that’s not all – after the film, they’ll get whisked off to the A-list after-party in Hollywood’s legendary Chateau Marmont hotel.
The online auction has no geographical limits, but you’d better get your skates on: to get a chance to meet the noble Brit (and support a good cause), you’ve only got til Wednesday.
According to People magazine, Colin Firth is ready to face his fans, no matter how they might act when they meet him in the flesh: “I’m a big fan of the people in the world of music and literature. If I’m a big fan of somebody, I prefer to keep at a safe distance because I don’t know what I will do,” Firth revealed.
The big day for the LA premiere is December 6. Based on a novel by John le Carre, Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy has two Russians – Konstantin Khabensky and Svetlana Khodchenkova – starring alongside Firth and Gary Oldman.
