A Siberian driver and her friend died in a car crash minutes after fleeing the scene of another road accident they had caused, local police said on Monday.
The woman and her female passenger were drinking all night long in a Russian banya, or steam bath, before taking a drive, Tyumen Region traffic police said on their website.
The duo rammed a Lada sedan with their own car, also a Lada, and fled the scene via a byroad, the report said, without specifying whether the people whose car they rammed were hurt.
But the fleeing car skidded when driving on the wrong side of the road, turned over and ended up in a ditch, killing both women, the report said.
Police did not release the victims’ names, but said both recently lost their driving licenses, which in the passenger’s case was because she had been caught drunk driving.
