MAKHACHKALA, December 9 (RIA Novosti) – A police colonel was shot dead in his own house in the volatile North Caucasus republic of Dagestan on Sunday, investigators said.
Several masked attackers had a short chat with Khizri Dzhabatyrov in his home in Makhachkala before pelting him with bullets, said a spokesman for the local branch of the Investigative Committee.
He did not specify what Dzhabatyrov discussed with his murderers before his death. The officer was in charge of combatting corruption and economic crime.
The attackers fled unhindered without harming any members of Dzhabatyrov’s family, the spokesman said. A case has been opened.
