Atlant of Moscow Region have made it 2-0 in their best-of-seven series against Lokomotiv Yaroslavl in the semi-finals of the KHL playoffs.
Loko once again failed to take advantage of home ice, going down 3-2 in overtime at the 10,000-strong Arena-2000.
Jan Bulis gave the visitors the lead in the middle of the first period, but Yaroslavl equalized and eventually took the lead in the ninth minute of the second period, thanks to Aleksandr Korolyuk’s goal, 2-1.
Five minutes later, Igor Mustov was first to the rebound after his own effort to level matters at 2-2.
The goalless third period saw the game going into overtime, which was decided on a powerplay.
Lokomotiv’s Aleksandr Guskov got a two-minute penalty, helping Musatov produce another solo and become Atlant’s hero of the day, 3-2.
The series now moves to the Moscow Region, with Games 3 and 4 to take place on March 27 29, respectively.
Salavat Yulaev lead Metallurg Magnitogorsk 1-0 in the other semifinal. The sides meet in Magnitogorsk on Saturday.
