KRASNOYARSK, August 24 (Itar-Tass) — Twenty children have been hospitalized in the Boguchany district, Krasnoyarsk Territory, on suspicion of meningitis, an official from the regional department of the Rospotrebnadzor Federal Service for Supervision of Consumers’ Rights Protection and Welfare told Itar-Tass on Wednesday.
“The children were rushed to the central district hospital from three villages: Chunoyar, Osinovy Mys and Oktryabrsky”.
“The children must have caught enterovirus when bathing in ponds. It is one of the main probable causes,” the agency’s epidemiological department said.
A group of Rospotrebnadzor specialists arrived in the Boguchany district to find out the circumstances of the incident.
