The International Skating Union has chosen Russia to host the figure skating world championship, the General Director of Russia’s Figure Skating Federation Valentin Piseyev said Thursday.
Moscow will host the championship from April 25 to May 1, he said.
The championship was to start on March 21 in Tokyo but Japan failed to host it due to the recent earthquake.
Among other candidates to host the event were Croatia, Austria, Canada, Finland, the US.
