The Mikhaylovsky Theatre has shown a world premiere of the ballet “Nunc Dimittis” by Spanish choreographer Nacho Duato.
This performance is an interpretation of his first impressions of St. Petersburg.
The choreographer has been at the head of the theatre’s ballet company since January.
This is the second time after Marius Petipa that a foreigner becomes the head of a Russian ballet company.
The music of the ballet was written by Estonian composer Arvo Part.
The programme of the evening also included the master’s two well-known works “Without Words” and “Duende”.
