Holders Bayern Munich have set a Champions League record with their 10th straight victory in the competition following their 3-1 over Russian side CSKA Moscow in their Group D clash in Arena Khimki on Wednesday.
The Germans, the only team in the competition with a perfect record this season, have secured the top spot in their group following the clash between Manchester City and Viktoria Plzen, which City won 4-2.
According to Sport24, Bayern struck against the run of play with Arjen Robben’s left-footed strike in the 17th minute, following which Mario Goetze added another after a fine run in the 56th minute.
Although CSKA’s Keisuke Honda cut the deficit with a penalty just after the hour, Bayern star Thomas Mueller responded with a penalty of his own to restore his side’s two-goal lead in the 65th minute, the report added. (ANI)
