Six loud explosions were heard on Thursday morning near Muammar Gaddafi’s compound in the Libyan capital of Tripoli, global media reported.
A large smoke cloud could be seen rising from the area of the fortified Bab al-Aziziya compound.
The compound has been the target of several NATO airstrikes in recent months as part of a military operation to protect rebels and civilians from Gaddafi’s forces.
Neither NATO nor the Libyan government have commented on the incident.
