CEO: Sberbank to build Olympics ski slope in Sochi by year-end

MOSCOW, Aug 5 (PRIME) — Russias largest bank, state-controlled Sberbank, plans to complete the construction of a ski slope complex in Sochi for the 2014 Winter Olympics by the end of 2011, Sberbanks CEO German Gref said at a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin Friday, RIA Novosti reported.

Sberbank is currently financing about a dozen large projects for the Sochi Olympics and is building the Gorki Gorod ski resort and the ski slope complex with all the relevant infrastructure independently, Gref said.

Moreover, Gref said that the ski slopes in Sochi are one of the most challenging parts of the preparations for the 2014 Olympics.

Investments in the project were not provided.
