A number of bilateral agreements are expected to be signed during Chinese President Hu Jintao’s visit to Kazakhstan on June 12-15, a spokesman for the Kazakh Foreign Ministry said on Sunday.
“A variety of issues concerning the promotion of bilateral cooperation within the SCO [Shanghai Cooperation Organization] and other international organizations are planned to be discussed during the talks with our [Kazakh] leadership and a number of documents are planned to be signed,” Askar Abdrakhmanov said.
The Chinese leader will also attend the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in the capital of Kazakhstan, Astana, on June 15.
The SCO comprises China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. Iran, India, Mongolia and Pakistan hold observer status.
