Two occupants of a Nissan Qashqai compact crossover, which fell four floors down from a multi-level parking garage in southern Russia on Thursday, were not injured in the accident, local traffic police said.
The car broke through a metallic fence, flipped over and fell on a row of shopping booths adjacent to the parking garage at the main market in the city of Krasnodar.
“The car was moving on the fourth floor of the garage when, according to the driver, its brakes failed,” the police source said.
Neither the female driver nor the male passenger sustained injuries as they were wearing seat belts.
By pure luck, none of the vendors or shoppers on the ground was hurt, the official added.
According to police, the driver will have to cover the cost of repairs to the destroyed infrastructure, which is estimated at tens of thousands of rubles.
