Criminal case opened over clash in Dagestan

MAKHACHKALA, September 5 (Itar-Tass) —— The Dagestani branch of the Investigation Committee opened a criminal case over a special operation in Khasavyurt under four articles of the Criminal Code for an attempt on the life of law enforcers, the premeditated damage of private property (a police car was damaged in the grenade blasts), the illegal circulation of weapons and ammunition and the illegal circulation of explosives and explosive devices.

The warlord of the so-called Khasavyurt terrorist group Ibragim Mukhuchiyev, known under the nickname Abu Umar, was destroyed in the special operation. “Mukhuchiyev together with his common law wife was blocked at 4.20 p.m. Moscow time at a private house in the Groznensky residential area in Khasavyurt,” spokesman for the National Anti-Terrorist Committee Nikolai Sintsov told Itar-Tass on Sunday.

In an attempt to break through the encirclement he opened sporadic fire and was killed in the retaliatory fire. Meanwhile, his common law wife was killed.

The law enforcement agencies reported that Mukhuchiyev, born in 1985, was involved in several terrorist crimes, attempted murders and killings of civilians and law enforcers.

“Meanwhile, he was a skilled bomb blaster,” the spokesman said.

No policemen and other law enforcers were injured, the Dagestani law enforcement agencies reported.
