Sergei Eisenstein’s seminal film The Battleship Potemkin hits the screens exactly 65 years ago today. A dramatized account of a great Russian naval mutiny of 1905 and a resulting street demonstration which brought on a police massacre, The Battleship Potemkin has since been touted worldwide as one of the best movies ever made.
