Cosmonaut Georgy Grechko and Natalia Korolyova, the daughter of rocket and spacecraft designer Sergei Korolyov, remembered Yury Gagarin at the Moscow-based Memorial Space Travel Museum on April 8.
They took a guided tour in the run-up to the 50th anniversary of Yury Gagarin’s epic space flight.
Grechko said Gagarin was a very modest man, that he was embarrassed by his fame, and was unsure of overly emotional women.
Natalia Korolyova saw Gagarin many times when he came to her father’s home. She said his charm, simplicity and humble background helped him become the first man to fly into outer space.
