The head of the EU representative office in Russia Fernando Velenzuella considers it necessary to increase contacts with Russian regions. He stated this in Kazan (the capital of the Russian republic of Tatarstan in the Volga region), where Saturday sees the launching of an international cultural festival “Europe Day”.
One of the promising areas for such cooperation, according to the guest, is student exchange.
“Europe Day” is held in Kazan for the third time and seeks to further rapprochement between Russian regions and EU countries.
