Not for the faint of heart, the video for nature enthusiasts was filmed in the renowned Serengeti ecosystem natural reserve, a geographical region that straddles northern Tanzania and southwestern Kenya.
Researchers put a camera inside the carcass of a wildebeest antelope, than left it under the merciless sun and drove away. The vultures came to dinner in no time at all.
The vultures are not simply cleaning the carcass, devouring the remnants of an animal, but are also spitting and tweaking, fighting for better pieces of tripe.
“In some parts of the world, vulture populations have declined by up to 95 percent, mostly from habitat loss and poisoning by humans,” the video reports.
