KHABAROVSK, August 7 (Itar-Tass) — Five people were injured in an oil refinery fire in Khabarovsk on Sunday. Four are in heavy condition in a resuscitation unit, a source at the Russian Emergencies Ministry’s Khabarovsk regional department said.
An operator received the information about the fire at about 06:30 (local time). Ablaze were spilt fuel and a pump station unit on an area of 50 square metres.
There is a fire-fighting service at the refinery, so firemen began to fight the blaze immediately. It was completely extinguished in 40 minutes, the source said.
Five workers were injured. Four are in grave condition, and one is in moderately heavy condition. With face and arm burns, he is hospitalized in a burns-treating unit.
The cause of the fire has yet to be established.
