Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi has said he lost trust in all Western nations except Germany and that Libya will only invest in Russia, India and China.
The G8 group of nations failed to agree on a no-fly zone over Libya on Tuesday, but pledged “dire consequences” for Gaddafi as his forces continue to pummel rebel positions.
Gaddafi’s forces gained control of the strategic town of Ajdabiya on Tuesday, the last town before the rebel stronghold of Benghazi. Thousands of people are thought to have been killed in fighting between government and rebel forces that is now in its fourth week.
“We do not trust their firms – they took part in the conspiracy against us,” Gaddafi told the German TV channel RTL.
“Our oil contracts will be given to Russian, Chinese and Indian companies. The West will be forgotten,” he said.
